Cheers dude this was very helpful. I bought one off eBay and the instructions were in German 🤣 I didn’t fancy translating the whole manual 🤟🏻

Does this file down the rakers and the tooth or just the tooth. It really looks like it could save me some time and money. I can use this in the field vs taking my chains in to the shop paying the service center for chain sharpening. It will pay for its self after the first few sharpening

I got mine earlier this week. I am a farm/ranch chainsaw user - so not pro or anything. So far, I am quite impressed with the product. I've been cutting some large oak, both crosscutting and ripping. The stuff is hard on chains. In just a few minutes I can use this little jewel to touch-up a chain - at least as good as new. Good job, Timberline!

I was too aggressive with cutting back the teeth and my carbide burr has chipped teeth as a result. Go easy!

Isn't the carbide portion supposed to get dipped into some oil first? I had done that when I started using it a couple years ago based on something I read or saw, but don't know if it is an official instruction or something I mimicked from someone else.

The tool seems to be well made but I had a problem with the carbide cutter breaking after only sharpening a few teeth. I was following the directions so I don't know why it broke. I left the company two emails and one voice mail and never received a response. They are quick to sell the item but it appears customer service is non-existent after that.

I saw this tutorial and bought this gadget. I have tried three different ones before. All were just a gimmick and did not make my hated job of sharpening any easier . So yeah I got exited about this one and low and behold, it is useless and is already in the bin with the others. I am now using hand file and keep doing the job I hate the classic way!

Stop-Forward prevented me from sharpening one side. A flat-head screwdriver became the stop-forward and functioned just fine!

Y'all need to update this video for better quality and to make some things clearer - like that stopper that never seems to engage the tooth without getting in the way. Oh, and get these things in stock... trying to find them against the generic, low quality (useless) knockoffs has become pretty pointless.

I am really liking this sharpener, only a few things that I would change or redesign. I've only had it through the winter here on my 450 acre tree farm.

BEWARE! I bought this sharpener in the UK and it was great to start with. However, the block and pawl (the part that holds the chisel against the sharpener) wears and stops you being able to fully sharpen the chain after awhile. I have tried and tried to get a replacement part, even emailing Timberline directly to as for a UK spares distributor. Timberline didn't even bother to acknowledge or answer my emails and so I don't know where to go next. This was a very expensive piece of kit (over £120) and so you would expect at least some basic customer service. There are similar devices in Amazon for a quarter of the price; I wonder if their customer service and spare parts are any better than Timberline.

Cool tool! But why is a different company selling this EXACT same tool WITH four cutters for $59.99, on sale for $29.00, and you sell it for $129.99 with ONE cutter?

These people have the absolute worst customer service. I strongly recommend you buy anything else, even the Chinese knockoff before this crap. I got one of these for Christmas. I spent another 50 bucks buying different angle guides and extra carbide. I used it half a dozen times and was pretty happy but then my pawl block stripped out. I wrote the company to ask what I had done wrong, I was more than happy to buy the part. Eric offered to replace my stripped part because it was only a month old. I sent my shipping address and never heard back. I emailed them a month later to ask what was going on. No reply. At this point I figured for some reason my email got sent to spam or something, so I emailed them from my business address and attached the previous emails. Yup, no reply. All these a-holes had to do is tell me to order the part. It was not that expensive and was what I was going to do in the first place, I just wanted to know what I was doing wrong. Now I wouldn't spend another 15 dollars with them if they were the last sharpener game on the planet. Instead I've decided to make it my goal to search out every reference I can to them and leave this review. I hope the Asian clones force you into bankruptcy. Thanks for screwing me and family out of $200

From their website: The center knob is only needed if your bar is worn and the chain flops from side to side. It helps push the chain vertical when sharpening side A so that the carbide can be inserted into the chain without having to push it over with your finger.
